According to an 11 September 1999 letter of Marilyn Snodgrass (Farmington Hills, Michigan), the 1880 federal census for Ypsilanti Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, lists one of Nathaniel Carey's daughters, Mary Carey Culbertson. Mary gave the birthplace of her father as Connecticut.

Culbertson, born 24 March 1868 marrying 14 September 1893 Maude Milligan, born 24 June 1872; she was a daughter of Robert Milligan. The GenServ report does not mention locations. The same report has a Hugh McClintock marrying a Nellie Milligan, born 13 January 1785. She was a daughter John and Mary Adams Milligan. We know that John and Mary Milligan had another daughter, Jane, who married David Nelson and two of David and Jane's children married McClintocks of our line (see #63 and #69 of -McClintocks). The GenServ item reports that James R. and Nellie (Milligan) Culbertson had children: (1) Marian A. Culbertson, born 18 July 1894; (2) Bruce H. Culbertson, born 31 January 1897; (3) Jean V. Culbertson, born 24 June 1899; died 6 September 1899; and (4) James L. Culbertson, born 18 August 1900.
